Strengthening Disaster Education: Establishing a Safe Residential Environment
Student safety is the primary goal of residential education. On September 21st, the Residential Colleges organized the "Earthquake Museum of Taiwan Tour" leading residents to visit the Fault Preservation Hall to deepen their understanding of earthquake disasters and disaster prevention through on-site observation. In October, the "Disaster Preparedness Action Power UP!" initiative was further promoted, combining online challenges with first aid practical exchanges to enhance students' emergency response capabilities.
Additionally, on November 11th, a campus-wide "Dormitory Earthquake Disaster Drill" was conducted, complemented by the "Disaster Prevention Master Lectures" series. These efforts strengthened evacuation guidance and disaster prevention knowledge, comprehensively raising residents' awareness and fulfilling the shared responsibility of "Disaster Prevention For Everyone."
Promoting Sustainable Dining: Implementing Healthy Living Concepts
In terms of sustainability, the Residential Colleges responded to SDG 3, "Good Health and Well-being," by promoting the "Food, Eat well, feel great!." This initiative encourages students to consume multi-colored fruits and vegetables and try meatless diets to practice a low-carbon lifestyle. On November 4th, the "Integration of Action and Knowledge: SDGs Challenge" was held, combining exercise records with Q&A sessions on sustainable issues, allowing students to deepen their understanding and practice of sustainability while staying active.
Diverse Activities Showcasing Vitality: Creating a Creative Learning Venue
Beyond education and safety, the Residential Colleges enhanced the quality of dormitory life through diverse activities. The "Dorm Green Living: The Feathered Fray" tournament, held on November 10th, attracted 14 teams, promoting interaction between different dormitories and showcasing sportsmanship.
Regarding arts and stress relief, the " Punch Needle" workshop was held in the Creative Space. Professional instructors guided students through fiber art creation, cultivating an aesthetic sense and relieving academic pressure. Furthermore, the "Living a Good Life: Tabletop Game" event held in late September integrated environmental concepts into interactive games, guiding students to reflect on the balance between urban development and environmental protection.
Building a Collaborative Home: Deepening the Essence of Residential Education
The Housing Services Section stated that through this series of activities, dormitories have successfully transformed from simple living spaces into a "Collaborative Home" featuring functions of learning, exchange, and growth. In the future, the university will continue to integrate more social issues and innovative activities, allowing students to accumulate diverse abilities during their stay and practice the spirit of holistic education.
