Asia University Student Dormitory Cleaning Notice
In accordance with Guidelines for Student Accommodation Application and Management, specifically Point 11 Subsection 2 and Point 17 Subsection 4, the Housing Services Section reminds all residents that good hygiene and a clean environment is own responsibility, and that ensuring cleanliness is a collective effort.
Dormitory "Check-in" Cleaning Confirmation:
►When checking in, please make sure that your room is in a clean condition (including beds, personal seats, closets, storage spaces, floors, bathroom toilets, sinks, bathroom partitions, tiles, drainage holes in bathroom floors, and windows), and that there are no items left behind by the previous occupants (including hooks, sticky mirrors, posters, stickers, and mats), and you can check the standard of cleanliness (Form Download→ Cleaning Standard).
►Should you find your room unclean at check-in, report immediately to the dormitory counter, for cleaning arrangements. Failure to report at check-in assumes acceptance of the room's cleanliness.
Dormitory "Leaving / Withdrawing" Cleaning Confirmation:
►The room cleanliness inspection standards are outlined in the attached document. The main parts to be inspected are: door panels, bathrooms, toilets, bed, under the desk, the space between the bed and the bookcase, bookcases, low cabinets and closets must be cleaned and completely emptied.
►When leaving the dormitory at the end of the first semester, lockable cabinets may be used for storage, but they must be locked; items placed in unlocked cabinets are considered abandoned.
►When leaving the dormitory at the end of the second semester, all room attachments (e.g., hooks, sticky mirrors, posters, stickers, foot mats) must be removed.
►When withdrawing the dormitory, all room attachments (e.g., hooks, sticky mirrors, posters, stickers, foot mats) must be removed.
►Before leaving the room, you must record a video tour of the room, starting at the room door plate, which will be retained for at least one year. The last person to leave the room is responsible for locking the door to protect the rights.
►The dormitory staff will conduct a full inspection after the dormitory has been emptied. If there are any dirty, leftover items or unattended garbage in the common areas of the room or bathrooms, the dormitory staff will take a "full room deposit".
Dormitory Cleaning Q&A
Q: My roommate left/withdrawn out later than me, do I need to clean the common areas of my dormitory?
A: Yes. The common space or the empty beds of the room need to be maintained by residents of this room, so everyone needs to clean the room area (including the common area). If residents fail the room cleanliness inspection at the end of the semester and don't provide the video taken when leaving the dormitory, whole residents of this room will need to pay the fee for the failure of cleanliness, and the "full room deposit" will be adopted.
Q: Why are deposit fees so high?
A: This fee is based on Point 11 Subsection 2 of Guidelines for Student Accommodation Application and Management, every resident has signed a letter of consent to stay in the dormitory and is willing to abide by the regulations of the " Guidelines for Student Accommodation Application and Management" and the " Guidelines for Dormitory Living Norms and Implementation" of the University, so the residents will double-check that they meet the standards of cleanliness when they leave/withdraw of the dormitory.
Q: If the inspection fails, can I be notified to come back for cleaning?
A: Unfortunately, no. The dormitory will be closed after an inspection of the dormitory's cleanliness. During the summer and winter vacations, the dormitory will be cleaned, disinfected, and the equipment will be inspected and maintained, and provide a dormitory to the summer and winter vacations of the students and campers, above works couldn't wait you to return school to clean up the room and carry out the inspection again, therefore, please make sure that residents finish the dormitory cleanliness before leaving the dormitory.
